Closing Out March

March was beautiful and I was on track to ride my way toward a distance record this month. By the 15th, I had as nearly as many miles as I had done in February. But, when the storms started moving in on the 18th, I had a feeling my chart was going to get impacted seriously. With torrential rains and high winds, the last couple of weeks of the month were pretty light. Hopefully, the rainy season ends soon. But, daylight savings time begins on April 2, so the sun will set much, much later.

Two four-day riding pauses in row (last weekend and the one before that) have left me feeling a little weaker than I was before the latest parade of storms, but I’m slowly dragging my pace back up. I look forward to April.

March: 675.75 mi in 36:24:04 (18.6 mph avg; 39.0 mph max)
