Regarding the weather: Go read about last year's ride. The weather was totally, utterly perfect.

This year the weather has been crazy. 95° with 90% humidity one day, 65° and 40% humidity the next. Certainly keeps us guessing.

It's really the least I can do. My grandfather died of cancer 20 years ago in Idaho and several of my friends have been personally affected.

I hope lots of people are inspired to donate. I'm surprised more people haven't pledged at least a little bit. I hope my example leads more people to help push toward your goal.

As for riding in the PMC myself, I guess we'll have to see how I'm doing after my tour of the Rockies (which I'm still planning).

Besides, y'all have that humidity thing out there, don't you? I'm used to triple digit temperatures in the summer with 5 - 10% humidity. Sounds like a radically different environment up there in the Northeast.

Still it sounds like fun.

Have a great ride.

Apollo!!!

Thank you, man, very much. That's really incredible, I appreciate it. The link is really helpful too!

I have a page that offers other ways to sponsor the ride, too, and there's also an essay about why I ride in the PMC.

I wish more people could be motivated to help out just by reading something on my site. I would bet that about 0.5 percent of my readers have ever bothered to make a donation. Even worse, someone wrote to me immediately after that last post just to "wish me well" in my fundraising efforts. I'm not even sure he got the irony.

Thanks again!

Seth

P.S. If you can work it out, you should fly out and ride with us next year. There were > 25 riders from CA there last year. It's an incredible experience.
