Week 46
Today’s ride was another half-century (50 mile) ride in familiar territory (yeah, I need to create more routes, so I have a little variation in my routine). Right in the middle of the ride, I stopped at The Bicycle Outfitter to test-ride the bike they assembled at my request yesterday. I rode for about three miles, glanced at it for a little while, talked to the sales guy about the pieces and parts and characteristics of the little machine, and decided to go ahead with the purchase.
That’s right, friends. I just shelled out over $1200 for a bicycle. I bought fenders with it, which will be installed tomorrow. I guess I’m going to sell the Giant, which has been a good entry-level bike and carried me many many miles in the three years I’ve ridden it.
