Back on the Horse

I decided today, being nearly two weeks after my ortho visit, that I felt good enough to go for a short ride, just to see how much my legs have atrophied over the last four weeks.

I decided to go after the Portola Valley / Woodside loop. The climb up to Portola Valley was a bit slower than I did it a month ago, when I was consistently able to chart average speeds above 17 mph. I had to stop six times up the hill because I have lost a significant part of my conditioning.

This ride: 20.18 mi in 1:15:31 (16.0 mph avg / 38.5 mph max).

Let’s hope I get my kick back soon. I still have over 2000 miles left to ride this year.
