Staple

Yes, another Staple in my belt. That makes four in less than a month. I think I’m becoming a regular, or something. They seem to have worked out whatever negativity dislocated the party last weekend.

I was looking forward to hearing from house guru, Ron Trent (a NYC native). I arrived at 10:30, expecting to hear some music, at least. The dancefloor was illuminated, a guy was projecting eye candy on the wall, and six or seven guys were behind the DJ table trying to fix the sound. Apparently, they had blown an amp, or something.

So, we waited. I talked to Ashley, a perky, pretty little thing in an incredibly delicious turquoise Chinese top, naughty pigtails and a pair of glowsticks. She ended up buying me water and dancing with me alot. Heh.

Finally, they got the sound up and working about 11:30, and Nikola started spinning a pretty nifty set of cuts that got me stared at a lot. I danced with Ashley some more, and Annie, who I saw at Vinyl two days ago and a few times at Stopspot and Staple. Didn’t catch her name before.

Ron Trent was insane. I was panting when they turned the lights on at 2. Annie invited me to Conscious Groove, over at Minna and Tenth. I was so tempted to go, but my feet were broken, my knees were broken, and my stomach was empty. Ah, well. Off to Lyon’s.
