Milwaukee, Day Two

Milwaukee, day two. Having stayed up until 4 with nate and brenda shooting the breeze, everyone got up kinda late and I decided to go to Cream City with him and hang out for the day. I met Brew, Andy, Josh, and a couple of non-ICB Cream City guys. They were all very cool. Had a very not bad burrito at La Boulangerie, an eatery down the street from Cream City, and spent a good part of the day getting embarrassingly low scores on the in-house dreamcast skateboarding game.

After work, we hung out at Nate’s house and ordered in some Thai food. I like mine hot, so I ordered an 8 on the scale of 1 to 10, pleasantly surprised by the heat level. Then, we all decided to go to BBC downtown to catch a chicago-based funk band called Bumpus, who kicked ass. Finally, Dylan (Nate’s roommate) and I headed to Mad Planet, where I was to meet Beth, whom I have known for years, but—by virtue of never having been to milwaukee before—never met. I had seen pictures of her, but damn, she’s beautiful. Woo.

Mad Planet was playing 80s music, with some 90s pop tunes interspersed. It wasn’t bad. There are some fucking delicious people in Milwaukee.

I had the pleasure of meeting Beth, Ferch, Susan, Lowry, and some other non-ICB people like Lisa, whom I almost clobbered in a standing spin (Planet’s dancefloor is sticky), and Nate’s sister, Kim. It was a fun time. Not generally my music, but I hear my music every single weekend in San Francisco. One quandry about Milwaukee: how come none of the bars sell bottled water? Strange.
